This course is designed for learners who have completed level A2 and want to reach the middle of B1.
Over 12 weeks, you will develop all core skills — reading, grammar, listening, writing, and speaking — through a structured program where each theme is covered over two weeks, including 12 speaking lessons.
The course focuses on practical and cultural topics: the Dutch language, the human body and mind, art and literature, social media, technology, and the environment. You will master key grammar structures needed for B1-level communication, including signal words, combinations of main and subordinate clauses, relative adverbs, the imperfect tense (onvoltooid verleden tijd), perfect tense (voltooid tegenwoordige tijd), pluperfect (voltooid verleden tijd / plusquamperfectum), and future tenses.
By the end of the course, you will be able to understand and produce more complex texts, express opinions, describe experiences, discuss current events and social topics, and communicate more independently in Dutch. This program prepares learners for the challenges of mid-B1 level conversation and comprehension.
Perfect for English-speaking learners ready to take their Dutch beyond A2.
